Applications are now open for the Asia-Europe Training and Youth Summit 2025!
This fully funded initiative is hosted by the Asia-Europe Foundation it presents a remarkable opportunity for early-career professionals from Asia and Europe who are engaged in the fields of science, innovation, and technology. Participants will gain valuable insights into science and technology diplomacy and its role in fostering Asia-Europe relations. The program spans two months, running from October to December 2025, and is structured in two phases:

  1. Online Training – from October 23 to December 4, 2025
  2. In-Person Youth Summit – from December 15 to 18, 2025, in Copenhagen, Denmark

Selected participants will receive full support, including accommodation, meals, visa assistance, and airfare to attend the Youth Summit in Denmark. Program Objectives

Establish Meaningful Connections: Create a strong peer-to-peer network to support future collaborations and dialogue.

Summit Support

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark provides extensive support for participants of the Youth Summit, including:

  • Round-trip airfare to and from Denmark
  • Accommodation and meals throughout the stay
  • Coverage for local transportation
  • Assistance and coverage for visa processing

Structure of the Program

The Asia-Europe Training & Youth Summit on Science & Technology will be conducted in two distinct phases. Let’s explore each in detail.

Phase 1: Online Training

This phase spans 7 weeks of virtual learning, featuring engaging workshops and webinars centered on the following themes:

  • The influence of science on diplomacy
  • How diplomacy shapes scientific progress
  • Innovation and technology within the realm of diplomacy
  • Exploring personal, cultural, and professional perspectives

Phase 2: In-Person Gathering in Denmark

Participants who are able to complete the online training will be invited to attend the Youth Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, scheduled for December 15–18, 2025. During this summit, young delegates will participate in discussions and contribute in shaping the future of collaboration in key areas.

Eligibility Requirements

The summit welcomes applications from individuals who meet the following requirements:

  • Citizens of Asian or European countries
  • Aged 35 years or younger
  • Strong proficiency in English (both spoken and written)
  • Currently engaged in science, technology, innovation, or international relations within government or civil society sectors

Selection Criteria

  • The applicant’s motivation to participate in the program
  • Their potential contributions to the summit
  • Relevant experience in the program’s focus areas

Applicants from the following Asian and European nations are eligible to apply:

Asian Countries:
Pakistan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, Bangladesh, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, New Zealand, Brunei Darussalam, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

European Countries:
Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
